Actions Speak Louder

NYX Dublin is actively participating in helping the environment with several initiatives:

  • Towel Reuse Programme: We encourage guests to reuse towels. Towels left on the floor will be replaced, while those hung up will not, conserving water and energy.
  • Glassware Instead of Plastic: All rooms feature reusable glassware instead of disposable plastic cups to minimize waste.
  • Energy Conservation: Our housekeeping staff are trained to turn off unnecessary lights and equipment after cleaning rooms, and air conditioning units are scheduled to turn off when rooms are vacant.
  • Battery and Cartridge Disposal: Used batteries and printer ink cartridges are collected and disposed of responsibly.
  • Paper Reduction: We promote paperless check-ins and double-sided printing to reduce paper usage.
  • Energy Efficiency: Staff are instructed measures to reduce energy consumption.
  • Guest Transportation Guidance: Reception staff provide guests with sustainable travel options, such as Dublin Express tickets and LEAP Card information.
  • Breakfast Forecasting: Reception communicates guest numbers to the F&B Manager to reduce food waste.
  • Hot Food Management: Breakfast staff prepare and order only what is needed.
  • Food Redistribution: Unused breakfast items are offered to staff, and plans are in place to partner with Too Good To Go for surplus pastries.
  • Energy Awareness: All staff are reminded to turn off lights, equipment, and computers when not in use.

Your Role in Sustainability

Guests can actively participate in our sustainability efforts during their stay by:

  • Completing our survey at the end of their stay.
  • Sharing their opinions and suggestions here on our website.

Our Commitment to Environmental Sustainability

Our recycling and sustainability programme is built on the hierarchy of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. By focusing on these three key pillars, we aim to minimise our carbon footprint while maintaining the high standards of service our guests expect.

  5. Paperless Operations: Implementing e-check-ins, digital invoicing, and mobile "keys" ( coming soon with the new Leonardo hotels app )to eliminate the need for physical card sleeves.
